Aqueos Tack & Leather Wipes – Review

During October, I swapped my current leather cleaner and sponge for the Aqueos Anti-Bacterial Tack and Disinfectant Wipes I received in the September My Horse Box. I religiously sponge my tack and boots down after almost every ride. I’m so used to using a rich leather balsam, I wasn’t sure how I’d get on with ‘just’ a wipe.

I made a commitment to use the Aqueos wipes for the whole month. I had a few concerns: would they leave my tack sticky, dry and dull? Will the disinfectant be hard on my leather? Will I be using an uneconomical amount of wipes, and will they fall apart in my hand?

I am pleased to say the Aqueos Anti-Bacterial Tack and Disinfectant wipes proved me wrong! 31 days later, I am converted and dread to think about how many germs my ‘trusted sponge’ could be carrying.

They have made my life easier too. After riding, rather than juggling leather when I wash my bit with water under the outdoor tap, I simply use a fresh wipe on my bit, then turn it over and use the other side to sweep over my bridle. I then use one on my boots and one on my saddle. At £11.90 for 200 wipes they’re great value for money and my pot still feels full even after a month long trial. Click here to see them on the Aqueos website.

The wipes are unique because they clean and disinfect at the same time, killing bacteria, fungi and viruses. They also inhibit mould and mildew build up. Aqueos take this commitment very seriously and the wipes have been tested against strangles and ringworm, which gives me huge confidence in my choice to use them.

I have claimed the Aqueos Anti-Bacterial Tack and Disinfectant Wipes as my new tack box essential. I am now reserving the ‘trusted sponge’ for hot water and saddle soaping sessions only.
