Welcome to another ‘Outside The Box’ post – where we write about anything and everything except our equestrian subscription boxes. This time, we’re meeting a new brand on the equestrian fashion block: Reins Supreme.
The brand is owned by Penelope Lindsay; an equestrian fashion designer who is currently studying for a Masters degree in Fashion and Business Studies. The culmination of her degree involves the creation of her very own equestrian clothing company, which she will officially launch to the public after graduation.
Currently specialising in trend-inspired show shirts, jackets and breeches, Reins Supreme are definitely a brand to watch.
For this post, we’ve been looking at the Louisa Embellished Shirt and the Cold Shoulder Shirt. Both will make perfect competition wear for the 2018 season when Reins Supreme launches next year.
Louisa Embellished Shirt
Firstly, the Louisa Embellished Shirt is the perfect competition shirt for those with an eye for sparkles! I love this incredible sequin material and the silver velvet detailing on the placket. Despite being so embellished, it is surprisingly stretchy and so allows for plenty of movement and flexibility.
The smart mandarin collar ties it all together nicely. It also features the Reins Supreme logo on the back, which will stand out well beneath your riding hat.
I really like the Louisa because it’s elegant and sophisticated, with the added technical benefits of flexibility and breathability. And who can resist a few sequins on show day?!
Cold Shoulder Ruffle Shirt
The Cold Shoulder Ruffle Shirt is giving me serious David Bowie in Labyrinth vibes, and I am LOVING it. Believe it or not, the pretty bow fabric packs a heavy technical punch. The four-way-stretch material allows for plenty of movement, and makes it extremely comfortable.
Huge on the runway and on the high street, the cold shoulder sleeve is yet to grace to equestrian fashion world – until now. I love the cut-out detailing as it looks stylish and unique, and offers great breathability!
The ruffle detailing on the front adds a playful, heritage feel. As with the Louisa, the Cold Shoulder shirt features a sleek mandarin collar and the Reins Supreme logo. I think it’s a really fabulous piece of clothing, and would be the perfect show shirt for the rider who wants high-performance garments that still look fashionable.
It has been a pleasure getting to know Penelope and her fledgling brand, and we wish her huge amounts of luck for the future. If these stunning shirts have caught your eye, keep that eye out for Reins Supreme when they officially launch in 2018!
